Among the six trailers in the global top ten on 9 August 2026, one deserves a closer look than its ranking suggests. The A24 trailer for Primetime reached 39 countries and 8,762,715 views in under three days, which puts it fourth worldwide by geographic coverage while sitting well below the Marvel and Indian entries on raw audience. That combination, wide but not enormous, is usually the signature of a film that found an audience rather than bought one.

A24

Published on 6 August, the trailer was already in 39 of our 72 countries by 9 August, with 8,762,715 views. Put that next to the two entries above it in the coverage ranking and the difference is instructive: Stray Kids reach 59 countries on a music video that needs no translation, and Garten of Banban reaches 51 on a franchise its audience follows by habit. Primetime is the highest-placed entry that had to convince people from a standing start, without a pre-existing fanbase carrying it across borders. A24 spends far less on trailer promotion than any major studio, and its releases rely on the trailer itself doing the persuading, which is why its films tend to appear in this ranking once, briefly, and only when the material is strong enough to be shared.

There is a practical reason to watch this one now rather than later. Trailers of this type have a short chart life: they arrive fast, spread wide, and disappear from national rankings within four or five days, replaced by whatever the next studio schedules. The Avengers: Doomsday trailer is the exception that proves it, still holding 28 countries three weeks after publication on the strength of a franchise nobody needs introducing. Primetime has no such cushion. What it has instead is a distribution profile that suggests genuine word of mouth: 39 countries is more than the Jumanji trailer released a week earlier managed, and more than any Netflix upload in the current data, on a fraction of the promotional weight. If you use this ranking to decide what to watch, the useful signal is never the biggest number. It is the entry whose reach is out of proportion to its budget, because that gap is the only part of a chart that marketing cannot manufacture. This week, that entry is Primetime.
