With 1,800 country-days recorded between 26 July and 19 August 2026, each carrying a turnover figure, it becomes possible to ask a question no single snapshot can answer: does the day of the week change how much a chart moves? It does, and consistently. Averaged over 72 countries, Saturday replaces 46.7 per cent of the world's chart entries, Tuesday 38.1 per cent. The full ordering runs Saturday 46.7, Sunday 43.5, Friday 43.1, Thursday 42.3, Monday 39.7, Wednesday 39.6, Tuesday 38.1. The weekend is nine points more volatile than midweek — a smaller effect than the gap between countries, but present in every week of the period.

This video was published on Saturday 15 August and appears today in 18 countries with an average rank of 18.7. Creator uploads cluster on weekends, when their audience is available, and they arrive in volume. The single highest global turnover of the period, 50.1 per cent, was recorded on Sunday 16 August — the morning after. The second highest, 48.6 per cent, fell on Saturday 1 August.

Marvel also chose Saturday 15 August for this release, which entered 49 charts. Weekends concentrate both amateur and professional publishing, and the charts absorb both at once. That double supply is what pushes Saturday and Sunday to the top of the turnover table: not more viewing, but more candidates.

Game publishers tie their announcements to weekend events and streams, adding a third publishing calendar to the weekend pile. The Sunday reading of 50.1 per cent global turnover is the direct consequence.

The lowest turnover of the whole period, 33.9 per cent, was recorded on Wednesday 19 August, and 36.2 per cent on Tuesday 18 August. This track, number one in France and the United Kingdom today, was published 16 hours ago — a midweek release entering a chart that has stopped churning. Midweek is when a video has the best chance of being noticed, precisely because fewer competitors arrive.

Music has its own weekly rhythm: new releases land on Friday almost everywhere. This video, published on Friday 14 August, is now number one in Greece, Norway, Denmark and Switzerland and charts in 46 countries. Friday sits third in our turnover table at 43.1 per cent, and the reason is visible in the composition of the entries rather than in their number.
The weekly cycle is a supply effect, not a demand effect. Charts do not become unstable because audiences change behaviour on Saturday; they become unstable because creators, studios, labels and game publishers all publish into the same two days, and a chart of fifty places cannot absorb four calendars at once without discarding what was there. For anyone deciding when to release, the practical reading is inverted from intuition. A weekend release competes against the largest daily supply of the week, in the least stable chart conditions of the week. A Tuesday release enters a list that is replacing 38 per cent of itself rather than 47 per cent, which means a place won on Tuesday is roughly a fifth more likely to still be there the next morning.
